Get to Know This Role

The Line Cook I is part of the kitchen team, working closely with other back-of-house staff to prep, cook, and serve food for onsite guests, delivery, and takeout. They follow recipes, plating guides, and SOPs to ensure food quality and safety standards. The role involves operating grills, fryers, broilers, and other equipment, developing station knowledge, and working various shifts to perform essential duties.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare all foods according to standardized recipes approved by supervisors.
  • Follow opening and closing SOPs.
  • Maintain appropriate food quantities and communicate adjustments.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Organize and rotate stock to ensure freshness.
  • Participate in training and operational updates.
  • Handle shipments following FIFO and safety standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
  • Follow all relevant laws and health regulations.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of experience in a commercial kitchen or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience in banquet kitchen operations preferred.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to complete prep lists and communicate effectively.
  • Basic food knowledge and cooking skills.
  • Mathematical skills for recipes and measurements.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
  • Beginners knife skills and safety awareness preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • SERV Safe Food Handler certification within 30 days.
