Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking Lighting Technical Directors in London to shape the lighting and look of complex CG scenes across diverse projects. You will design, light, render, and assemble final shots while collaborating closely with Lighting and CG Supervisors.

This hybrid role requires strong scripting (Python/MEL), Katana and Renderman expertise, and a solid understanding of Linux systems. Prior shot Look Dev and photoreal lighting experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of VFX lighting and rendering pipelines.
• Real-world expertise in lighting and photography for CG shots.
• Experience with shot Look Dev tasks in a VFX environment.
• Strong ability to communicate and receive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design and create lighting and the look of CG scenes.
• Responsible for final CG scene assembly, lighting and rendering of complex shots.
• Collaborate with Lighting Supervisors and CG Supervisors to determine the best approach.
• Create lighting setups or adapt existing ones.
• Optimize render farm usage with efficient rendering setups.
