Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to service a range of vehicles and plant, diagnose faults, and rectify defects for Fleet and external agency operations. The role includes inspecting and conducting MOT tests to meet VOSA standards.

The successful candidate will hold Level 3 NVQ/Motor Vehicle studies and may have LOLER and agricultural qualifications. We offer a generous leave and benefits package with hybrid/remote options where possible.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in Motor Vehicle Studies certificate.
• LOLER tester and level 3 agricultural qualification (desirable).
• Technical experience and competence in a range of vehicles from light vehicles to small agricultural plant.
• Ability to diagnose faults requiring technical knowledge.
• Experience in preparing and testing vehicles for MOT to ensure roadworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all vehicle/plant servicing and fault diagnosis for Fleet and external agency operations.
• Complete defect rectification and ensure compliance with legal responsibilities.
• Inspect and carry out MOT tests on vehicles to VOSA legislation standards.
