Job summary

First Marine Solutions Ltd in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector to test, repair and inspect lifting equipment at company and client sites. A LEEA qualification with MPI/DPI certifications (SNT/PCN) and a full UK driving license are required, along with a solid understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, liaising with supervisors to deliver accurate reports and ensure safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out NDT exams (MPI/DPI) on lifting equipment.
• Perform PAT and HAVS testing on equipment.
• Report progress to inspector supervisor and customers.
• Produce clear, concise inspection reports with findings.
• Conduct risk assessments and method statements as required.
• Evaluate test results to applicable standards and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and company QA/QC.
• Report accidents, incidents or near-misses per processes.

Job description

Who are we?

First Integrated Solutions (FIS) provide Lifting, Inspection, Equipment Rentals and HAVS Management and Analysis services to the Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities Industries around the world, from our UK operating base in Aberdeen. First Tech Group companies include First Marine Solutions, First Integrated Solutions, First Subsea, Tusk Lifting, First Competence, North Sea Compactors, Mooring Systems based in Aberdeen, Montrose, Glasgow, Liverpool, Teesside, Hull and Lancaster, with a headcount of around 300 staff.

You will be required to carry out the test, repair and inspection of various lifting equipment and accessories within company and client sites as required.

The successful candidate will hold previous experience in a similar position, be LEEA qualified, hold both Magnetic Particle Inspection and Liquid Penetrant Inspection certification (either SNT or PCN) and hold a full UK driving license. You will also have a thorough understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.

A company van and fuel card will be provided, along with a competitive salary and benefits package.

• Where required carryout the appropriate NDT examination(MPI or DPI).
• Carryout PAT & HAVS testing on client & company owned equipment.
• Liaise with Inspection Supervisor and customer regarding progress of the job, report any concerns relating to the work scope and any integrity concerns in a timely manner.
• Produce a clear and concise report detailing all equipment examined highlighting any defects or recommendations.
• Carry out risk assessments and method statements as required.
• Evaluate results of any tests in accordance with applicable standards/ specification and procedures.
• Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems and take an active part in the compliance and improvement of same.
• Report any accidents. Incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to Company processes/ procedures.
• Experience within the Lifting / Inspection Industry.
• Previous experience in writing accurate and concise reports.
• Experience within a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
• Advanced LEEA qualifications are desirable such as Lifting Machines Manual / Power.
