Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Lifting Inspection Technician for the Teeside depot with coverage across the North East. You will perform LOLER and PUWER inspections, inspect lifting accessories, and prepare digital reports and certifications.

Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, you’ll identify defects, advise on remedial actions, and maintain compliance records while promoting safe lifting practices. Drive a company vehicle for site visits.

Qualifications

• Several years experience in lifting equipment servicing, maintenance, or inspections.
• Strong understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and industry legislation.
• Understanding of LEEA codes of practice (holding or willing to work towards LEEA Diploma/Quals).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct LOLER and PUWER inspections of lifting equipment.
• Inspect lifting accessories including slings, shackles, hooks and eyebolts.
• Complete accurate digital inspection reports and certification.
• Identify and report defects and compliance issues.
• Advise customers on remedial actions and safe equipment use.
• Explain inspection findings and compliance requirements to customers.
• Tag equipment as compliant or quarantine where necessary.
• Support repairs, replacements and follow-up inspections.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records.
• Promote safe lifting practices and company standards.
• Travel to customer sites using a company vehicle.
• Support service team audits and equipment standards.

Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a Teeside-based specialist providing crane servicing, maintenance, inspections and lifting compliance to industrial clients across the UK. They are looking to recruit a Lifting Inspection Technician for the Teeside depot and cover a small patch across the North East region.

The Lifting Inspection Technician comes with a salary up to 40,000 per annum, company van (that can be used for personal use) and a wealth of additional benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Lifting Inspection Technician
