Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Technical Engineer to provide advanced technical support across service operations in Cardiff and surrounding areas, handling fault-finding, repairs, and technical guidance for field engineers.

The role requires independent work, strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical lift systems, and the ability to read wiring diagrams and documentation; travel across Cardiff area is expected; company vehicle and pension are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as Lift Technician, Senior Lift Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer.
• NVQ Level 4 in Lift Engineering or equivalent.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience resolving complex or recurring lift faults.
• Knowledge of passenger and goods lifts from multiple manufacturers.
• Experience within the UK lift and escalator industry.
• Able to interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Good knowledge of lift regulations and health & safety.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently.
• Professional communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults.
• Provide technical support to service, repair and installation engineers.
• Attend difficult breakdowns and recurring faults requiring specialist expertise.
• Carry out repairs, adjustments and component replacements.
• Test equipment after repairs and confirm safe return to service.
• Read wiring diagrams, technical drawings and manufacturers' docs.
• Identify defective components and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Provide technical guidance and on-site support to engineers.
• Complete job sheets, technical reports and customer documentation.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site contacts and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with lift regulations and health & safety.
• Travel throughout Cardiff and surrounding areas.
