Job summary

Otis is seeking a Lift Service Technician to maintain and service a portfolio of lifts and escalators across Barrow-in-Furness. You will perform routine checks, document findings, and escalate as needed to the field manager.

You’ll engage with clients, explain work carried out, and coordinate on-site service responses. We require NVQ Level 3 in lift service/maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and at least 24 months of elevator sector experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in lift service, maintenance or repair is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• At least 24 months of experience in the elevator sector.
• Strong aptitude in electricity and electrical engineering.
• Safety-focused professional with a proactive mindset.
• Good communication skills with clients and team members.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team and adapt to changing tasks.
• Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine service checks on multiple lift and escalator units across the site.
• Provide updates to clients on work performed and progress.
• Respond to breakdowns and deliver technical solutions to restore service.
• Carry out minor repairs when required.

Role Overview

You will ensure the safety of passengers by safely maintaining a portfolio of lifts and escalator units.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine service checks on a number of units across the site, recording and escalating your findings to the field manager.
• Be the face of the business, often providing updates to clients around work carried out.
• React to sudden breakdowns, working with both passengers and the client to provide a technical solution to breakdown issues.
• Perform minor repairs.

Requirements

• Hold an NVQ level 3 in lift service, maintenance, or repair.
• Hold a drivers license.
• You have at least 24 months of experience in the elevator sector.
• You have good skills in electricity and electrical engineering.

• You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team.
