Job summary

Mearns View Care Home in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, is seeking a Lifestyle Coordinator to enhance daily life through engaging, person-centred activities for residents, including those living with dementia.

You will plan group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests, building strong relationships and promoting wellbeing, independence and social interaction, with training provided and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A creative, organised and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• A genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in activities or similar roles is beneficial; transferable skills from hospitality/ events/ childcare are welcome.

Job description

Our purpose built, luxury 67-bed care facility is located in the charming town of Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire. We are proud to provide a range of services which includes Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite & Palliative Care.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to full time hours per week including weekends
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Lifestyle Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
