Job summary

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is seeking two Lifeguards to join the team at Blantyre Leisure Centre on Glasgow Road, Blantyre. The role is 35 hours per week on a 3-week rota, with early morning and weekend shifts. You will supervise pool activities, ensure safety, maintain cleanliness and provide excellent customer service.

Applicants must hold a current NPLQ; First Aid certificate is desirable. A positive, proactive approach and strong teamwork are essential for this public sector

Qualifications

• A current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent is essential.
• A current First Aid Certificate is desirable.
• Experience in lifeguarding, leisure or customer service is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, proactive approach and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming pool activities and ensure customer safety at all times.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in line with procedures.
• Deliver customer service and assist centre users.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
• Support wider operational needs of the centre as required.
