Job summary

Horizon Leisure Centres in Waterlooville is seeking a part‑time Lifeguard to join the Operations team. You will assist the Duty Management Team in running a busy leisure facility, provide excellent customer service and perform lifeguarding and operational duties as needed.

The role requires a Lifeguard qualification, strong communication skills, and a flexible, team‑oriented approach. 20 hours per week with set shifts; hybrid working not applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer services environment.
• Experience as Centre Attendant/Lifeguard in a wet and dry centre.
• First Aid.
• Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist Duty Management Team in operating a first-class leisure facility.
• Welcome and assist customers with general enquiries.
• Undertake lifeguarding and operational duties as directed.
• Maintain facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety.

Your Role

To assist the Duty Management Team in the operation and presentation of a first-class leisure facility to all Horizon Leisure Centre customers

Your Team

You’ll be working within our Operations Team and directly reporting to the Duty Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Use the Horizon HELLO in all customer interactions
• Welcome and assist customers with general enquiries
• Understand and be knowledgeable about our products and services
• Undertake lifeguarding duties and operational duties as directed by the Duty Management Team
• Maintain and monitor all facilities to ensure cleanliness is paramount and always free of hazards
• Responsible for ensuring customers are treated with respect
• Responsible for ensuring staff are treated with respect
• Responsible for the safety of all customers and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
• Set-up and take down of sports equipment according to schedules

Your Experience

• Experience of working in a customer services environment
• Experience as a Centre Attendant/Lifeguard in a wet and dry centre
• First Aid
• Manual Handling

Your Qualifications

• RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willing to undertake)
• HSE First Aid Qualification desirable
• Certificates in COSHH & Health & Safety desirable

This role will be based at Waterlooville but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
