Role Overview

Here at Shropshire Community Leisure Trust our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. We provide affordable access to a wide range of sports and leisure facilities to support healthier and happier people across all segments of the local community. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team – and right now we are looking to recruit for Part Time Lifeguards to join our leisure centre. You will be an important part of life here at the centre as you ensure that everyone can use the pool in safety and that they have access to everything they need to enjoy their visit. Without you there can’t be any pool activity. Serco manages these facilities on a day‑to‑day basis on behalf of the Trust. As a lifeguard you will also receive fantastic training and development opportunities and benefits including free leisure access and other various discounts.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, interacting heavily with customers of all ages and backgrounds.
• Supervise activities, maintain high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensure the safe handling and set up of pool equipment.
• Be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations, and help to save lives when needed.

Qualifications

Strong swimming skills and it is essential that you hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) or equivalent.
