Job summary

McBride in the United Kingdom is seeking a Production Data Controller to guarantee that all products meet customer requirements by maintaining SAP data, BOMs and routings, and managing all changes in the master data.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Production Scheduling, PLM and Quality to launch new products, track obsolescence, and produce daily, weekly and monthly reports to support cost control and service levels.

Qualifications

  • Master degree (BAC 2+/GCSE) in applied science (mathematics/IT/languages) or equivalent by experience in a similar function.
  • Experience 1-2 years in the production administrative area.
  • Good knowledge of English and willingness to learn; knowledge of other languages (French, German) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create/Change components in SAP to enable procurement and production planning.
  • Create/Change finished products in SAP to enable production scheduling.
  • Keep master data of components and finished products up to date.
  • Create/Change BOMs and routings for accurate cost pricing.
  • Coordinate new product launches with PLM, R&D, quality and production.
  • Monitor statuses of finished products, raw materials, and formulations to minimise obsolescence costs.

Key Purpose

To guarantee that all products produced meet customer requirements ('Good for Production') by :

  • Creation of new components and finished products in full and correct in SAP
  • Creation of BOM's (Bill of Material) and Routings (costing and production) in SAP
  • Manage all changes in the BOM of finished products
  • Manage end of live of finished products and launch of new products via the event-system in SAP in cooperation with the PLM (Product Lifecycle Manager) in the Business Units and the Production Schedulers.
  • Manage statuses of components, raw materials, formulations and finished products in SAP (site data steward role, linked with group master data rules)
Key Responsibilities
  • Creation/Change of new components in SAP to enable Procurement officer to order components and raw materials.
  • Creation/Change of finished products in SAP to enable Production Scheduler to plan finished products on the lines.
  • Keep master data of components and finished products up to date.
  • Create/Change bill of materials so that the correct ingredients are used to produce a finished product
  • Create/Change routings so cost prices of finished products are correctly calculated
  • Manage and follow up new product launches in cooperation with PLM in head office, R&D packaging, R&D formulations, quality and production (events system + trackers).
  • Manage statuses of finished products, raw materials, components and formulations based on information from the different departments to enable Procurement Officer and Production Scheduler to minimize destruction costs for obsoletes and maximise customer service during product withdrawal.
  • Authorise ordering of materials on run out.
  • Raise authority to Dispose forms for redundant materials. Issue for signature and destruction.
  • Utilise obsolete materials where possible via concessions/derogations.
  • Liaise with quality production to sequence and minimise reworking of non-conforming products stock.
  • Update and create daily, weekly and monthly reports within supply chain department
  • Assure continuity of the department (backup other functions, where applicable)
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with contacts in other departments.

  • Consult the HSE coordinator for advice on HSE matters, whenever required.
  • Respect the processes and procedures (set to assure the HSE conditions) and in relation to risks of the department, transpose these to work instructions.
  • Check the respect of these instructions by colleagues; verify if they are aware of the risks related to their activities and if they have clearly understood the instructions. Check if they can and do respect them.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and dangerous situations. And assure action is taken to improve the situation.

  • Assure the policy deployment throughout the organisation, within your area of responsibility.
  • Setting of objectives in line with McBride group objectives, policy and processes.
  • Communication of the policy and the objectives within your organisation.
  • Regular evaluation of the effectiveness of the HSE performance and reorientation when necessary.
