Job summary

RNLI is seeking a Training Technician (Mechanic) to maintain and repair our training fleet, ensuring vessels and equipment are ready for courses. You will also serve as the Mechanic on training vessels when courses operate at sea, applying your maritime engineering knowledge to keep machinery in top condition.

The role involves hands-on maintenance, rapid defect repair, and direct collaboration with volunteers and staff to support life-saving training activities.

Qualifications

• Maritime engineering background and hands-on maintenance experience required.
• Operator level as a Mechanic on a current ALB is preferred.
• Ability to repair emergent defects quickly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the training fleet to ensure availability.
• Act as Mechanic during training courses on vessels at sea.
• Provide hands-on support to lifeboat crews and training staff.
