Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a landmark life sciences facility in Oxford, including Vaccinology Centre and Pandemic Sciences Centre. You will own planning, coordination and delivery across design, construction and handover, collaborating with the University of Oxford and project partners.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering life sciences or healthcare construction projects.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• Fit-out and construction management background with strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of the life sciences facility from building to handover.
• Develop delivery strategies, programmes and budgets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams for integrated lab, research and education spaces.
• Oversee laboratory environments, MEP systems and clean rooms.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Monitor performance against programme, cost and quality; take corrective actions.
• Build relationships with the University of Oxford, researchers and supply chain partners.
• Lead governance activities including reporting and change control.
• Drive digital engineering, BIM and modern construction methods.
• Support commissioning, validation and handover to full operation.
• Champion sustainability and net-zero objectives.
