Job summary

Vulcain Engineering UK in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Electrical Test & Validation Technician to join our regulated life sciences and pharmaceutical projects. You will support testing, verification and qualification of specialist equipment and systems, working closely with engineering, commissioning and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical testing, verification or commissioning within regulated industries (pharma/life sciences/manufacturing).
• Experience executing test procedures, recording results and maintaining technical documentation.
• Knowledge of regulated working environments and quality management processes.
• Experience supporting equipment qualification, validation or commissioning activities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with electrical fault finding, test instrumentation and measurement techniques.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate and document technical issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside engineers, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Be based within commuting distance of Portsmouth, or willing to relocate; regular site attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and wire electrical test rigs and supporting equipment.
• Carry out electrical testing, inspection and verification on equipment, assemblies and systems.
• Execute approved test procedures and protocols per project requirements.
• Record, analyse and report test results; document deviations or non-conformances.
• Support factory acceptance testing and other verification activities before installation.
• Assist with commissioning, qualification and validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Interpret electrical schematics and drawings to support testing and troubleshooting.
• Ensure testing activities comply with quality, safety and documentation standards in a regulated environment.
