Job summary

Job description

Our client, based in Sussex, is looking for a diligent and detail-focused Licensing Technical Officer to join their Licensing team on a temporary basis. The role involves processing applications under the Licensing Act 2003, checking applications for compliance, updating the UNIFORM licensing system, preparing and amending licences, and providing general advice to customers on licensing matters. The successful candidate will be required in the office at least two to three days a week (negotiable).

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a licensing, regulatory, or legal administrative environment, along with a good working knowledge of primarily the Licensing Act 2003 and its associated regulations. Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to interpret aspects of legislation and apply it accurately to individual cases as well as providing technical administrative support to Officers. Candidates should be confident communicators, able to deal professionally with applicants, solicitors, and members of the public, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, TEANS and case management/database systems, with established experience using Uniform/IDOX considered essential. The ability to manage a varied caseload and provide support to the Service is key to succeeding in this role.
