Job summary

Sandwell Council in Oldbury is seeking a permanent Licensing Officer to supervise the taxi licensing team and oversee frontline service provision. You will ensure timeliness and compliance with standards while guiding licensing functions and reporting to committees.

The role requires court evidence where needed, with emphasis on stakeholder liaison and process improvement. Salary is Band F SCP 26-31, with generous benefits.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in a licensing environment.
• Supervisory experience in a revenue-generating setting.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a licensing qualification.
• Experience dealing with Members and Council Committees, incl. reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise frontline licensing service delivery to ensure timeliness and standards.
• Provide technical guidance on licensing functions and prepare committee reports.
• Present evidence in Court on Licensing Matters as required.
