Overview

Licensing & Environmental Health Officer who has knowledge of legal investigatory practice and techniques including interviewing, evidence gathering and case-building is required for a well-established organisation based in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Salary: £31,537 - £51,357 per annum (DOE) + Benefits

Location: Wokingham, Berkshire (RG40)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent • Working hours: 37 Hours per Week

Candidate Requirements: Candidates MUST hold a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Licensing & Environmental Health Officer who has experience of working within a similar role and has knowledge of legal investigatory practice and techniques including interviewing, evidence gathering and case-building.

Working as the Licensing and Environmental Health Officer you will be responsible for carrying out efficient, effective and consistent resolution of Environmental Health and Licensing case work.

As the Licensing and Environmental Health Officer you will need to identify information needed to carry out an investigation and / or prepare an enforcement file, plus completing the actions needed to resolve the case.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to public protection through the effective regulation of licensed activities and environmental enforcement.

Duties
  • Efficient, effective, and consistent resolution of Licensing and Environmental Regulation case work. Including conducting inspections and investigations and providing advice to applicants and stakeholders on licensing requirements
  • Deliver an efficient and effective licensing service ensuring timescales are met for licensing applications and consultations. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to policy development
  • Support Partner working through Pubwatch, Best Bar None, Purple Flag, Street Pastors, Ask for Angela and delivering Bystander intervention training against rape and sexual assault in the nighttime economy
Candidate Requirements
  • Legal investigatory practice and techniques including interviewing, evidence gathering and case-building
  • An understanding of regulatory impacts on business and individuals, critically analysing information and situations to solve problems and make decisions
  • Correctly interpret and apply legal, procedural and technical guidance and standards
  • Make rational and defensible decisions in various situations, having regard to existing policy or procedure
  • Full UK Driving Licence and use of own car
