Job summary

Curious Universe UK is seeking a Licensing Editor to manage a diverse portfolio of licensed publishing products. You will drive editorial development from concept to print, ensuring high editorial and creative standards while complying with licensor guidelines and budgets.

You will collaborate with licensors, agents and internal teams to deliver engaging publishing products that meet business and partner needs, while mentoring junior editors and monitoring industry trends.

Qualifications

• Three years of editorial experience in publishing, licensing, children's publishing, toys or stationery.
• Experience with licensed publishing programmes or branded IP is desirable.
• Exceptional project management and organisational skills for multiple schedules and deadlines.
• Excellent editorial judgement, copy-editing, proofreading and copywriting abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management with licensors, freelancers and internal teams.
• High level of commercial awareness and ability to align products with brand requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of licensed titles from concept through to production, delivering on time and within budget.
• Lead editorial development of licensed products in line with brand guidelines and licensor requirements.
• Maintain relationships with licensors, licensing agents, freelancers and internal teams as the primary contact.
• Coordinate and oversee approval processes, incorporating licensor feedback and meeting standards.
• Commission, write, edit and proofread engaging editorial content for licensed titles.
• Create briefs and schedules for designers, freelancers and suppliers while managing multiple projects.
