Draken is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1 & B2) to join the Aircraft Maintenance team at Hurn. The role involves certifying maintenance across the fleet, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and supporting operations at bases and detached sites in the UK and overseas.

You will lead engineers, review tasks, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted CAA Part-66 B1 and B2 licence with relevant aircraft type ratings and/or company authorisations.
• Minimum five years' experience within an aircraft maintenance environment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1 & B2) to join our Aircraft Maintenance team based at Hurn. Reporting to the Crew Chief, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of aircraft maintenance activities across the fleet. As a certifying engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance while supporting operational requirements at both main operating bases and detached locations in the UK and overseas. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities and a customer-focused approach to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and certify aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with Part-145 requirements, approved maintenance data and company procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory, quality and safety requirements.
• Support the operation and maintenance of aircraft at main operating bases and detached locations worldwide.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians working within your area of responsibility.
• Ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
• Coordinate engineering activities to ensure work is delivered to operational targets and budget requirements.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage the reporting of occurrences through a Just Culture approach.
• Support the Crew Chief with the day-to-day management, development and performance of the maintenance team.
• Assist with task prioritisation, resource planning and maintenance scheduling activities.
• Maintain aircraft movements and engineering activities under your control in a safe and compliant manner.
• Continuously review working practices and contribute to improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality and efficiency.
• Ensure work areas are maintained to high housekeeping standards at all times.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers, stakeholders and colleagues.
• Maintain personal authorisations, licence recency and compliance requirements.
• Undertake additional duties as required by the Crew Chief or Chief Engineer in support of the Engineering Department.

Essential

Experience & Skills

• Unrestricted CAA Part-66 B1 and B2 Licence with relevant aircraft type ratings and/or company authorisations.
• Minimum five years' experience within an aircraft maintenance environment.
• Previous experience within a line, base maintenance or workshop environment.
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Proven ability to work safely whilst maintaining high levels of quality and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising, supporting or mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build effective working relationships.
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work to demanding deadlines whilst maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work shift patterns and support detached operations in the UK and overseas.
• Medically fit to perform engineering duties, including deployment activities.
• IT literate with experience using computer-based maintenance and recording systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Desirable

• Relevant aircraft type ratings applicable to the Draken fleet.
• Previous experience acting as a Lead Engineer, Certifying Engineer or Supervisory Engineer.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
• Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management principles.
• Experience working within a Safety Management System (SMS) environment.
• Understanding of change management and basic project management methodologies.
• Experience supporting operational deployments and detached maintenance activities.
• Evidence of successfully driving process improvements, efficiency gains or organisational change.
• Additional engineering qualifications or training relevant to aircraft maintenance.
