Job summary

Draken Europe is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2) to join our Fleet Maintenance team in the UK. The role focuses on certifying maintenance, supervising engineers, and ensuring airworthiness and safety across our aircraft fleet.

You will work under the SLAE, performing scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, sign-offs, and SB incorporations while maintaining regulatory compliance and company procedures. This role offers opportunities to support detached locations and drive engineering best

Qualifications

  • Certified aircraft engineer with B2 license and CAMO awareness.
  • Experience certifying maintenance in line maintenance environments.
  • Proven leadership of engineering teams under tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on with pressurised twin-engine aircraft over 5700 kg.
  • Familiar with maintenance data, safety regs and company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Certify maintenance activities and document work accurately.
  • Carry out inspections, defect rectification and SBs.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance data and safety requirements.
  • Complete work cards and records promptly.
  • Identify defects and develop solutions with supervision.
  • Be responsible for assigned aircraft and detachments.
  • Liaise with internal departments to finish tasks.
  • Monitor costs and flag financial risks.
  • Undertake aircraft ground movements as authorised.
  • Deputise for SLAE when needed.
  • Supervise engineers and enforce safety checks.
  • Mentor team members and promote best practices.
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance.
  • Maintain clean, compliant work areas and calibrations.

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2) to join our Fleet Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced certifying engineer to play a key role in maintaining the airworthiness, safety and operational readiness of our aircraft fleet.

Reporting to the Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer (SLAE), you will be responsible for carrying out and certifying maintenance activities, supervising engineering personnel where required, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements, company procedures and safety standards. The role also offers the opportunity to support aircraft operations at detached locations and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certify maintenance activities within the scope of your company authorisation and complete technical documentation accurately.
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections, defect rectification, modifications and Service Bulletin incorporation on company aircraft.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with approved maintenance data, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Complete work cards and maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report critical defects, working with supervisors to develop effective solutions.
  • Take responsibility for assigned aircraft and components, including support at deployed or detached operating locations.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure the successful completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Support the control of maintenance costs and highlight any potential financial risks.
  • Undertake aircraft ground movements as authorised.
  • Deputise for the Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer when required.
  • Supervise engineers and ensure appropriate safety checks are carried out during maintenance activities and functional testing.
  • Support the development of engineering best practice and assist with mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Assist with monitoring staff performance, attendance and timekeeping.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organised and compliant with company standards.
  • Monitor tooling control and calibration requirements in accordance with company procedures.
Experience and Skills
  • EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category B2.
  • Approved aircraft engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Recent experience working as a certifying engineer within a line maintenance environment.
  • Experience maintaining pressurised twin-engine turbine or turboprop aircraft above 5,700kg.
  • Proven supervisory experience leading engineering teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience working to tight deadlines and operational requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of Part 145, Part 21 and Part CAMO requirements.
  • Computer literate, with experience using maintenance management systems.
  • Falcon 20-5 (Honeywell TFE731) Type Rating.
  • Falcon 20 maintenance experience.
  • EASA Part 66 Category C Licence.
  • Aero-Trac experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001 standards.
