Job summary

Draken Europe is seeking a Supervisor to assist the Crew Chief, responsible for safety, regulatory compliance and operational performance of Part-145/A8-23 aircraft maintenance across the Aircraft Maintenance department and detachments worldwide.

You will lead and develop the team, coordinate engineering activities, ensure tasks are completed to time, quality and safety standards, maintain documentation and promote a Just Culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • At least 3 years' experience working on fast jet aircraft.
  • Experience within aircraft line, base, or workshop maintenance environments.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a military or civil aviation maintenance setting.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements.
  • Company Authorisations and/or an unrestricted CAA Part-66 B1 Licence with relevant type ratings.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work to deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Experience working within a continuous improvement environment or on improvement projects.
  • Formal project management or change management experience.

The Role

The position is to assist the Crew Chief in being responsible to the Chief Engineer, for the safety, regulatory compliance and operational performance of all Part-145/A8-23 aircraft maintenance activities within the Aircraft Maintenance department and detached locations, essential to the effective delivery of customer contractual requirements. In addition, the Supervisor will provide support to the team with engineering decisions and provide guidance regarding personal and team development.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Aircraft Maintenance is highly regulated with safety, quality and regulatory compliance being held as the first priority. The Supervisor must drive and deliver a culture of safety first ahead of schedule, with the highest level of safety and regulatory compliance across all relevant areas. Promoting SHE and Security in relation to the performance of fleet maintenance activities is essential. Operational activities are based around customer requirements; therefore, the preparedness to work additional hours and deploy on detachments in the UK and overseas, is essential to deliver a successful maintenance business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritise safety in all activities, ensuring compliance with company Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) standards, procedures, and safe systems of work.
  • Support the maintenance, certification, and overall operational performance of aircraft and associated equipment as delegated by the Crew Chief.
  • Promote a positive safety culture, encouraging the reporting of occurrences and supporting a "Just Culture" approach.
  • Carry out and supervise aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory requirements, maintenance manuals, and company procedures.
  • Support aircraft operations and maintenance at both the main operating base and deployed locations worldwide.
  • Supervise aircraft ground movements where authorised and required.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, including certification of work performed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of all maintenance and aircraft documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering activities to ensure operational targets and budget requirements are achieved.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to the Crew Chief to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within all work areas.
  • Assist the Crew Chief with day-to-day team management, task prioritisation, scheduling, and staff development.
  • Act as Deputy to the Crew Chief when required.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Maintain personal authorisations, licences, and competencies to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Crew Chief or Chief Engineer.
