Morson Edge is recruiting a Licensed Aircraft Engineer for a permanent, full-time position at RAF Cosford, Shropshire. The role involves maintenance in a regulated aviation environment to support airworthiness and operational readiness.

The successful candidate will work on complex aviation platforms, collaborating with a professional engineering team and maintaining stringent safety standards. CAA qualifications and appropriate licences are required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in line with regulatory requirements.
• Certify completed maintenance in accordance with Part 145 or equivalent approvals.
• Diagnose aircraft faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Record all maintenance activities accurately and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and performance.
• Work as part of a wider engineering and maintenance team.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and airworthiness.

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time 40 hours per week, including weekends

The Opportunity

Morson Edge are recruiting for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a leading Aerospace and Defence programme based at RAF Cosford.

This is an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to work within a regulated aviation maintenance environment, supporting aircraft safety, airworthiness and operational readiness.

The role offers the opportunity to work on complex aviation platforms while developing your skills within a highly professional engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in line with regulatory requirements
• Certify completed maintenance in accordance with Part 145 or equivalent approvals
• Diagnose aircraft faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
• Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded and fully compliant with applicable standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality and operational performance
• Work effectively as part of a wider engineering and maintenance team
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and regulatory compliance

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working within a regulated aviation maintenance environment
• Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures
• Experience working across relevant aircraft platforms or transferable type experience
• Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and airworthiness

Qualifications

• UK CAA qualification or equivalent/similar
• Must hold a B1.1, B1.2, B3 or equivalent/similar aircraft maintenance licence

Security Clearance

Candidates must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
