Job summary

Avanti Grange Secondary School is seeking an organised Librarian and Resource Manager to lead the development and management of our library, reprographics provision and wider learning resources. You will work with teachers to support the curriculum and develop students' information literacy, fostering a love of reading across the school.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Knowledge and understanding of library and information skills.
• Knowledge and commitment to equality and diversity issues in library services.
• Awareness of child development and the role of reading in education.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of all students.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the school library, reprographics room and wider learning resources, keeping them accessible and well maintained.
• Source high-quality resources with teaching staff, support information literacy, and advise on copyright.
• Lead reading for pleasure initiatives and support independent study using the library.
• Recruit, train and supervise pupil librarians and volunteers; promote inclusion.
• Keep senior leaders informed about library development and needs.
