Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking an Information Assistant for a hybrid role in Exeter. This full-time, permanent post is term-time only and the starting salary is from £28,029 per annum pro rata on Grade C, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

You will support library services and work with colleagues to ensure resources are available and accessible to the entire academic community. The role requires adaptability, good communication, and a confident IT capability to work both

Information Assistant

Location: Exeter (Hybrid). Contract type: Permanent.

This full-time, term time only post is available immediately on a permanent basis. The starting salary will be from £28029 per annum pro rata on Grade C, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

The University’s library services underpin research and learning by providing extensive digital and physical academic information resources. Library assistants support this by ensuring that required resources are available for all to use on an equitable basis, helping to provide an excellent service to the whole academic community.

You will be an adaptable team worker and a fast learner, with good communication skills. A confident user of IT, you will be able to work independently and under pressure to a high standard of accuracy and to flourish in a rapidly changing information environment. With excellent customer service skills, you will be liaising with colleagues across the University to ensure the quality of this service. Familiarity with the Higher Education information environment and with bibliographic data, acquired through work or study, would be an advantage.

About the Division

In collaboration with the academic Faculties, the Education and Academic Services (EAS) Directorate provides all of the key administration and education support and enhancing activities that underpin the student experience from Welcome Week to Graduation.
