Overview

A Library Assistant is the first point of contact for users of the Library. Library Assistants deal with the public in person and on the telephone, answering enquiries, assisting with self-service terminals and public computers, shelving, signposting to other agencies and dealing with Council-related enquiries.

If you are committed to providing excellent customer care and can contribute cheerfully and efficiently to a quality Library Service, Macclesfield Library would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality customer service to library users in person and by phone.
  • Assist with self-service terminals and public computers.
  • Shelving, signposting to other agencies and handling Council-related enquiries.
  • Deliver reader development opportunities to adults and children; respond to the needs of customers and the community.
  • Participate in detail-oriented tasks and maintain accuracy in daily duties.
  • Demonstrate good communication and keyboard skills.
Hours

Hours will include one late night until 7pm and alternate Saturday mornings until 1pm.

Week one: Wednesday 10am-5pm, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-1pm, Saturday 8.45am-1pm.

Week two: Wednesday 10am-5pm, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 9.45am-1pm.
