Job summary

UK Management College seeks a proactive Librarian to manage and develop the Sunderland Campus library, supporting students and staff with access to high-quality academic resources and promoting digital learning tools.

The role emphasizes information literacy, research support, and collaboration with academic staff to develop the library collections in line with curriculum needs. It is a permanent, full-time position on campus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Library Science, Information Management, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in education libraries preferred.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with library systems and digital cataloguing tools.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to support students with research.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day library operations including issuing and returning resources.
• Assist students and staff to locate physical and digital resources.
• Develop and review the library's academic resource collection.
• Maintain accurate records in the Library Management System.
• Provide guidance on research methods and referencing.
• Promote digital resources like e-books and databases.
• Deliver workshops and one-to-one student support.
• Maintain a quiet and welcoming learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with copyright regulations.
• Collaborate with academic staff on teaching and curriculum.
• Monitor library usage and drive service improvements.
