Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for a fixed-term post based at Frimley Park Hospital to provide clinical input and leadership to Liaison Psychiatry for Working Age Adults. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team and influencing service delivery across Surrey’s major hospitals.

The post requires GMC registration, MRCPsych, and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Full medical registration with a license to practice.
• Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (or within 6 to 12 months of interview).
• MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
• MD/PhD/MSc or other additional clinical qualifications.
• MRCPsych or equivalent.
• Management qualification or leadership development experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage referrals for Working Age Adults with mental health problems.
• Provide medical expertise and support to Frimley Park Hospital colleagues.
• Supervise clinical caseload and supervise trainee doctors.
• Support liaison team in intervention decisions, discharge planning and communication with Primary Care and other services.
• Oversee psychiatric treatment, directly or through supervision of team members.
