Location: Leeds

Job Details

Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Location: Hybrid, Stoke-on-Trent/Glasgow. Successful applicants will be required to attend company premises once per week at either our Stoke-on-Trent or Glasgow office.

Our Opportunity

Davies is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our Casualty team. This role provides a supportive environment where you will deliver proactive claims handling to major clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaison: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
  2. Investigation: Handle claims from your desk or refer to field adjusters for on-site investigation.
  3. Evidence Gathering: Obtain relevant evidence and documentation.
  4. Resolution: Determine actions to resolve cases.
  5. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on policy indemnity, legal liability, and tactics.
  6. Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
  7. Professional Correspondence: Maintain proactive communication.
  8. Adherence to Procedures: Follow documented procedures and client requirements.
  9. Reserve Management: Review and maintain reserves.
  10. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on technical changes and participate in training.
Knowledge and Abilities
Essential
  • Proficiency in managing claims from start to finish.
  • Experience investigating liability claims.
  • Knowledge of valuing injury claims.
  • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and Claims Portal.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Team player with adaptability.
  • Ability to manage personal caseload.
Desirable
  • Experience managing Property Damage claims.
  • Familiarity with reserving strategies.
  • Strong communication skills across levels.
