Liability Claims Handler - Property

Department: Claims Management

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Leeds


Description
Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Location: Hybrid, Stoke-on-Trent/Glasgow
Applicants are required to attend the respective office once per week.

Our Opportunity: Davies seeks an experienced Claims Handler to join our Casualty team. This role offers a supportive environment where you will provide proactive claims handling for major clients.

What will your day look like:
  • Liaison: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
  • Investigation: Handle claims from your desk or refer to field adjusters for on-site investigation.
  • Evidence Gathering: Collect relevant evidence and documentation.
  • Resolution: Determine actions to resolve claims.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on policy indemnity, liability, quantum, and tactics.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
  • Professional Correspondence: Maintain proactive communication with all parties.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Follow documented procedures and client requirements.
  • Reserve Management: Review and maintain reserves.
  • Continuous Learning: Keep updated on technical changes and participate in training.

Knowledge and Abilities:
Essential:
  • Experience managing claims from start to finish.
  • Experience investigating liability.
  • Knowledge of valuing injury claims.
  • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and Claims Portal.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Team player with adaptability.
  • Ability to manage personal caseload.
Desirable:
  • Experience with Property Damage claims.
  • Knowledge of reserving strategies.
  • Strong communication skills across levels.
