Department: Claims Management

Location: Birmingham

Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Location: Hybrid, Stoke-on-Trent/Glasgow. Successful applicants will be required to attend company premises once per week at either our Stoke-on-Trent or Glasgow office.

Our Opportunity: Davies is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our Casualty team. This role offers a supportive environment where you will provide proactive claims handling for major clients.

What will your day look like:

  • Liaison: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
  • Investigation: Handle claims from your desk or refer them for on-site investigation.
  • Evidence Gathering: Collect relevant evidence and documentation.
  • Resolution: Decide on actions to resolve claims.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on policy indemnity, legal liability, and tactics.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within your authority limits.
  • Professional Correspondence: Maintain proactive communication.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Handle cases according to documented procedures and client requirements.
  • Reserve Management: Review and maintain reserves regularly.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on technical changes and participate in training programs.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Essential:

  • Experience managing Claims from start to finish.
  • Experience with Liability investigations.
  • Knowledge of valuing injury claims.
  • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage personal caseloads.
  • Adaptability and versatility.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Property Damage claims.
  • Knowledge of reserving strategies.
  • Strong communication skills across levels.
