Location: Hybrid, Glasgow
Successful applicants will be required to attend the Glasgow or Stoke office once a week.
Our Opportunity:
Davies is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our Casualty team. This role offers a supportive environment where you'll provide first-class claims handling services to major clients.
What will your day look like:
- Investigation: Handle claims from your desk or refer them to a field adjuster for on-site investigation when needed.
- Evidence Gathering: Collect relevant evidence and documentation.
- Reserve Management: Review and maintain reserves regularly.
- Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within your authority limits.
- Resolution: Determine actions to resolve cases.
- Liaison: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics.
- Professional Correspondence: Maintain proactive communication with all parties.
- Adherence to Procedures: Follow documented procedures and client requirements.
- Continuous Learning: Keep updated on technical changes and participate in training programs.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Essential:
- Experience managing Claims from start to finish.
- Liability investigation skills.
- Ability to manage personal caseload.
- Excellent communication skills across levels.
- Strong customer service commitment.

- Adaptability and versatility.
Desirable:
- Experience with Property Damage claims.
- Knowledge of reserving strategies.
- Ability to value injury claims.
- Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
