New Forest District Council is recruiting LGV Driver/Team Leader/Loader for Lymington. Working 06:00–14:00 Mon–Thu and 06:00–13:30 Fri, you will drive, assist loading, and lead a small team across depots in Lymington, Totton and Ringwood. A heavy-work environment with training in safety and manual handling is provided.
You must hold a Class C LGV license, Driver CPC, and have 3+ years in a similar waste/transport role, plus strong communication and supervisory skills.
Salary Up to a maximum of £33,235 per annum including bank holidays* (includes £1518 market supplement per annum which is due to be reviewed in August 2026)

Our waste team is one of our main key frontline services, you can be part of this incredible team providing essential duties to all the residents of the New Forest.
Enjoy working outdoors and with a great crew?
As well as driving, you will be expected to assist with the loading of the vehicle and support colleagues where necessary. You will also be expected be able to work at any of our Depots in Lymington, Totton and Ringwood. A moderate degree of physical effort is required, including some heavy lifting and moderate levels of walking. Appropriate personal protective clothing will be provided and must be worn at all times.
Full training will be provided in manual handling techniques, reversing assistance, health and safety matters and any other training appropriate for the role.
Are you a morning person with a can-do attitude? Love an early start and to get your working day finished by 2pm
This role will require you to work early mornings and, in all weathers, but if you have the ‘can do attitude’, with understanding of the importance of health and safety, this could be the job for you.
The working hours for this role are 06.00 – 14.00 Monday to Thursday and 06.00 – 13.30 Friday.
