Job summary

GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL AND ARMS LENGTH ORGANISATION is recruiting for an operational waste disposal role. duties include driving skip and multi lift vehicles, loading/unloading containers, and transporting to treatment facilities. When not driving, you will perform manual labouring tasks.

Occasional operation of heavy plant/HGV may be required. The post runs on a 4 on 4 off pattern from 6.30am to 6.30pm. Current salary range is £29,049.26 to £30,698.96 per year, with a projected rise to

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and health & safety awareness are essential.
• Able to deal with the public in varying situations with a calm approach.
• Flexibility to switch between driving duties and manual labour when required.
• Experience with vehicles and loading techniques is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Drive skip (lugger) and multi lift vehicles for collection and transport of containers to treatment facilities.
• If driving duties are not available, perform manual labouring tasks.
• Occasional operation of heavy plant and HGV vehicles within the disposal section.
• Maintain vehicle functionality with routine checks and safe loading methods.
