Job summary

Biffa Group in the United Kingdom seeks a HGV Class 1 Driver to operate LGV vehicles transporting waste and recyclates from Lochgilphead or Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute. This role is 39 hours per week, with start times to suit the location, and a pay rate of £15.05 per hour.

You will perform daily pre-start vehicle checks, comply with health and safety rules, and maintain records. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times.

Qualifications

• Valid Full UK driving licence (C+E) and CPC card.
• Experience with hook lift and skip vehicles is essential.
• Health and safety awareness for waste transport operations.
• Ability to work on own initiative and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate LGV vehicles for transporting waste/recyclates to landfill.
• Comply with driver hours rules and transport legislation.
• Develop good relations with 3rd party off takers.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and defect reporting.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Attend operational meetings as required.

HGV Class 1 Driver – can be based out of Lochgilphead or Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute

39 hours per week, times to suit starting location

Salary: £15.05 per hour

Overtime paid at 1.5 times

In this role your primary function is to drive various vehicles for the transportation of waste/recyclates, to comply with all aspects of Health & Safety and the Company’s contractual obligations with the local authority. You will need to provide daily pre start checks on vehicles before operated.

Your key responsibilities:

• Operate LGV vehicles for the transportation of waste material to landfill

• Compliance with driver hours’ rules and transport legislation

• Develop a good working relationship with 3rd party off takers

• Ensure compliance with company standards

• Maintain a good standard of vehicle cleanliness

• Undertake vehicle wheel re torque on a weekly basis

• Attend operational meetings as and when required

• Ensure compliance with defect report procedure

• Maintain robust documentation records

Essential criteria for this role:

• Full UK driving licence (C+E)
