Job description

LGV Driver - Class 1

Location: Lochgilphead or Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute

Hours: 39 hours per week, times to suit starting location

Salary: £14.50 per hour

Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times

This role primarily involves driving various vehicles for the transportation of waste/recyclates, ensuring compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety and contractual obligations with the local authority. Daily pre-start vehicle checks are required.

Your key responsibilities:

• Operate LGV vehicles for the transportation of waste material to landfill
• Ensure compliance with driver hours' rules and transport legislation
• Develop good relationships with third-party off-takers
• Maintain standards of vehicle cleanliness and safety
• Perform weekly wheel re-torque on vehicles
• Attend operational meetings as required
• Follow defect reporting procedures
• Keep accurate documentation records

Requirements

Essential criteria:

• Full UK driving licence (C+E)
• Health & Safety awareness
• Drivers CPC card
• Experience with hook lift and skip vehicles
• Ability to work independently
