Job description

Driver – can be based out of Lochgilphead or Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute

39 hours per week, times to suit starting location

Salary: £14.50 per hour

Overtime paid at 1.5 times

In this role your primary function is to drive various vehicles for the transportation of waste/recyclates, to comply with all aspects of Health & Safety and the Company’s contractual obligations with the local authority. You will need to provide daily pre-start checks on vehicles before operating.

Your key responsibilities:

1. Operate LGV vehicles for the transportation of waste material to landfill
2. Compliance with driver hours’ rules and transport legislation
3. Develop a good working relationship with 3rd party off takers
4. Ensure compliance with company standards
5. Maintain a good standard of vehicle cleanliness
6. Undertake vehicle wheel re-torque on a weekly basis
7. Attend operational meetings as and when required
8. Ensure compliance with defect report procedure
9. Maintain robust documentation records

Essential criteria for this role:

1. Full UK driving licence (C+E)
2. Health & Safety awareness
3. Drivers CPC card
4. Experience working with hook lift and skip vehicles
5. Ability to work on own initiative
6. Able to carry out daily maintenance duties and effect minor repairs as required
