Job summary

Currys plc in Cumbernauld invites applications for an LGV Driver Apprentice. The role combines on-road duties with formal training to gain a 7.5T licence, CPC, and Tachograph Card while delivering products to customers.

You will develop customer service skills and complete the Urban Driver Level 2 qualification, enabling you to become a qualified commercial driver with full-time earnings and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK/EA driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• Aged 18 or over at enrolment.
• Must have lived in the UK for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Delivering products via multi-drop driving role.
• Lifting and installing items for customers.
• Ensuring deliveries are accurate and on time.
• Creating positive customer interactions.

Role overview:

• Achieve your C1 (7.5T) licence
• Gain your CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Earn the Urban Driver Level 2 qualification
• Build first-class customer service skills

What you’ll be doing once qualified:

• Delivering products through a multi-drop driving role
• Lifting and installing a variety of items for our customers
• Making sure every delivery is accurate and on time
• Creating positive, lasting impressions with every customer interaction

What we’re looking for:

• A full Class B UK/EA driving licence held for at least 6 months, with no more than 6 penalty points
• You must be aged 18 or over at the point of enrolment
• You must have lived in the UK for the last 3 years (apprenticeship funding requirement)
• A genuine interest in developing a career as a Driver
• The ability to handle heavy stock safely and confidently
