Job summary

Selwood Limited in the UK is seeking an experienced LGV Driver to join our branch operations team in Nottingham. You will safely deliver, collect and transport pump equipment between depots and customer sites, while providing excellent customer service.

A Class 2 licence and HIAB/ALLMI qualification are essential, along with fitness to load and unload the vehicle and strong communication with hire desks and customers.

Qualifications

• Class 2 LGV driving licence (no more than 6 points).
• HIAB/ALLMI certificate is required for this role.
• Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Driver Qualification card and/or Periodic CPC Certification.
• Experience of working in similar industry (i.e. plant, construction, hire).
• Over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes).

Responsibilities

• Carry out work in compliance with Department of Transport Regulations and The Highway Code, having regard for personal safety, the safety of the workforce and the general public.
• Fully understand and be compliant with the digital Tachograph operation and drivers' hours' legislation.
• Maintain an understanding of, and full compliance with the Working Time Directive for mobile workers. Observing all statutory break periods defined under the WTD for mobile workers. Driver's hours rules must also be observed and take priority over WTD rules.
• Ensure all loading and unloading activity is carried out in a safe and efficient manner. All loads are to be positioned and secured safely and correctly to avoid overloading any of the axles and to avoid any possibility of the load moving during transit. This could include manual handling of hoses.
• Liaise with your Manager and the garage to help schedule 6-weekly vehicle safety inspections.
• Carry out daily maintenance and defect checks of the vehicle.

About The Role

We're looking for an experienced LGV Driver to join our branch operations team in Nottingham. In this role, you'll safely deliver, collect and transport pump equipment between our depots and customer sites, while providing excellent customer service.

It's essential that you have your Class 2 licence, and your HIAB/ALLMI qualification.

To enable you to complete all tasks, you will need a good level of fitness, so you are able to safely load and unload your vehicle, this is a requirement at both customer sites and Selwood branches.

To carry out this role effectively good communication skills are essential, as you will need to communicate with the hire desk, other colleagues, and our customers to ensure the task at hand is completed to a high standard.

As part of the role, you will be involved in a call out rota.

Base salary of £38,515, with potential earning up to £60,617. Potential earnings include additional pay such as overtime, call-outs and other applicable allowances and are to the best of our knowledge based on real world conditions. However, this may vary for individuals depending on the local availability of overtime and personal commitment to working additional hours. Our managers would be happy to explain how overtime and call-outs work during the interview process and address any questions you may have.
