Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a dedicated LGV Driver to join the Transport and Logistics team at Banavie Quarry, Fort William. This permanent, full-time role includes comprehensive training and a strong emphasis on health, safety and environmental standards.

You will operate Class 2 vehicles, perform daily checks, load/unload, and deliver concrete, asphalt and aggregates to customers and depots, ensuring paperwork is accurate and compliant with UK road laws. Nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C or C+E licence with Driver CPC.
• Proven LGV driving experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of local road networks.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any faults or issues.
• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment.
• Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time with accurate paperwork.
• Maintain communication with the Distribution Department regarding delays or route changes.
• Ensure security of the load during transit.
• Complete delivery logs and digital entries accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Ensure deliveries comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Occasionally work nights and weekends as required.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver to join our team at Banavie. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. You will be responsible for ensuring our products are delivered efficiently, in accordance with the law and the best interests of the company and our customers. You will place the highest importance on our sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, ensuring you're well-prepared to meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies

• Contribute to the team by maintaining a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• A valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification
• Proven experience as an LGV driver preferred
• Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• A hard-working and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work variable hours, with the availability for occasional nights and weekends
• A genuine interest in the construction materials industry and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
