Job summary

Breedon Group plc in Dunbeg, Oban, is hiring an LGV Driver to join our Transport and Logistics team. You will deliver concrete, asphalt and aggregates, perform vehicle checks, and ensure paperwork accuracy while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a valid Category C/C+E licence and Driver CPC, familiarity with local routes, and a flexible approach to hours, including nights and weekends. Training will be provided to support your development in a construction materials environment.

Qualifications

• A valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification.
• Proven experience as an LGV driver preferred.
• Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Flexible to work variable hours, including nights and weekends.
• Interest in construction materials and development.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Breedon processes.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report faults.
• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment.
• Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time with accurate paperwork.
• Maintain communication with Distribution Department regarding delays or route changes.
• Ensure load security during transit and complete delivery logs and timesheets.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent Breedon professionally.
• Comply with legal health, safety and environmental standards and work flexibly, including occasional nights and weekends.

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver to join our team at Dunbeg. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. You will be responsible for ensuring our products are delivered efficiently, in accordance with the law and the best interests of the company and our customers. You will place the highest importance on our sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, ensuring you're well-prepared to meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies

• Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time, ensuring accurate paperwork and documentation

• Complete delivery logs, timesheets, and any required digital entries accurately
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner
• Ensure all deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising the health, safety, and environmental standards of Breedon
• Contribute to the team by maintaining a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• A valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification
• Proven experience as an LGV driver preferred
• Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• A hard-working and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn
