Job summary

DPD UK is seeking a reliable HGV Driver for our Dunstable unit. You will move bulk collections nationwide, operate a modern fleet, and work a permanent 40-hour week with a shift pattern from 13:30 to 01:00, Monday to Friday.

The role offers £16.35ph with a £2.72ph night-rate premium and enhanced overtime, plus health and wellbeing support and a funded CPC renewal program.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 licence (CE) with CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
• Geographical knowledge of UK roads and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries across DPD sites and major customers.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and tachographs to manage routes and ensure compliance.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key player in our national transport department, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.

• The Mission: Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Logistics: Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Tech & Compliance: Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• The Experience: At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• The Skillset: Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a "safety-first" mindset.
