Job summary

Rushcliffe Borough Council is seeking an experienced Class 2 Refuse Collection Driver to join the recycling2go team. You will lead a crew, drive the refuse collection vehicle, and deliver high-quality service to residents across the Borough.

The role offers a stable 37-hour week, permanent contract, and generous local government benefits. Full LGV C licence and Driver CPC are essential, with training and development supported.

Qualifications

• Hold a full LGV Category C (Class 2) licence.
• Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Be safety-conscious and reliable.
• Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ideally have experience of refuse collection vehicles, tipping operations and supervising or leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Lead a collection crew and ensure work is completed to high standards.
• Collect domestic waste and recyclables across the Borough.
• Support various waste services (glass, bulky waste, septic tank/cesspool).
• Provide excellent customer service to residents.
• Promote safe working practices and maintain regulatory compliance.
