Job summary

Grundon is recruiting a Transport team member for our Knowl Hill depot. You will learn to drive and operate a range of waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, with a focus on hazardous clinical waste where training is provided.

The role requires a proactive, team-minded approach and a commitment to safe operations. You will perform daily vehicle checks, comply with tachograph rules, report incidents, and maintain accurate paperwork while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks, reporting and escalating defects in line with legal requirements.
• Comply with tachograph legislation, WTD, SOPs, and Risk Assessments.
• Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins, and non-conforming waste promptly with accurate paperwork.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete weekly wheel nut torque checks.
• Wear and maintain PPE/uniform to required Health & Safety standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure punctuality, accurate record-keeping, and completion of duty hours whilst remaining flexible with working hours and support overtime when required.
