Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, is hiring an LGV Class 2 ADR Cylinder Driver in Wolverhampton. The role involves delivering 15–20 gas cylinders daily, ensuring vehicle readiness, and performing pre-use inspections of the truck and equipment.

Required: HGV/LGV Cat C licence with at least 2 years entitlement, Driver CPC, and familiarity with defensive driving and relevant regulations. ADR Class 2 is desirable; training will be provided where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV/LGV Cat C licence.
• ADR Class 2 desirable; training provided where appropriate.
• Driver CPC is required.
• Knowledge of defensive driving and driver regulations.
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
• High level of personal integrity is essential.
• LGV entitlement held for a minimum of 2 years for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure road worthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of the allocated vehicle.
• Complete daily pre-use inspection check sheet for the vehicle and any required equipment.
• Operate forklift or crane for loading/unloading if necessary.
• Apply defensive driving techniques and knowledge of regulations to ensure safe transport of cylinders.
• Deliver approximately 15–20 gas cylinders per day to customers in the area.
• Use safe cylinder handling techniques to deliver/collect cylinders to/from customers.
• Adhere to strict Health & Safety operations.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

• Ensuring the road worthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of vehicle allocated
• You will complete daily pre-use inspection check sheet for the vehicle and as well as any specialised equipment that you may need to use as part of daily work
• If necessary, operate special BOC equipment such as a forklift truck or crane for loading and unloading vehicles
• Applying defensive driving techniques, knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads to ensure the safe transit and delivery of cylinders is required
• You will deliver approx. 15-20 gas cylinders per day to customers in the area
• Use safe cylinder manual handling techniques to deliver/collect cylinders to/from customers
• Adhering to strict Health & Safety operations

What Makes You Great

• You are holding an HGV/LGV Cat C licence
• ADR (Class 2 in packages) desirable and training will be provided where appropriate
• A driver CPC is required
• Knowledge of Defensive driving and Driver Regulations, including HSA regulations
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers
• Having a high level of personal integrity suits to your profile
• Have held the LGV entitlement for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes
