Job summary

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is offering a 6 month (possible extension) Surgical Fellow post-ST5+ in GI and colorectal pathology in a high-volume tertiary centre with strong academic and clinical governance ethos.

The role provides immersive training in surgical and multidisciplinary management, with opportunities for teaching, audits and CME within a renowned NHS institution.

Responsibilities

• To promote the highest clinical standards
• To work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to provide effective delivery and management of the service.
• To participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of the surgical trainees
• To actively participate in departmental and trust matters concerning clinical governance.
• To participate in regular audit of clinical activity and effectiveness that aid improvement and development of the General Surgery service.
• To ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME) for self and others.

Job description

The UCLH LGI Surgical Fellow role is a 6 month (possible extension), post ST5+ position designed to provide comprehensive, advanced training in the surgical and multidisciplinary management of complex GI and colorectal pathology. The position offers immersive experience in a high-volume, tertiary referral centre with a strong academic, research, and clinical governance ethos.
