Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 3 to join our CSTLC team in Burry Port. The role focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, delivering academic aid and wellbeing programmes, and supervising pupils 1:1 or in small groups.

A basic Welsh language level is required, with support provided to reach it. DBS checks will be carried out as part of safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Ability to supervise 1:1 pupils and small groups to deliver academic and pastoral support.
• Welsh language level 2 required; support to reach this level on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional wellbeing support and address learning barriers.
• Deliver academic support and wellbeing programmes to pupils.
• Supervise 1:1 pupils and small groups as needed.
• Support pupils excluded from or not following a mainstream timetable.
