Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to contribute to specialist SEND provision in Newcastle. The role focuses on supporting pupils with physical, medical and additional learning needs and enabling accessible learning.

You will work closely with teachers and specialists, use assistive technology and adapt activities to promote independence and engagement, within a full-time, term-time framework.

Pay: £130–£250 per day, dependent on experience

Are you a Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to develop your experience within a specialist SEND environment?

A specialist SEND school in Newcastle is looking for an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with physical, medical and additional learning needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with assistive technology, specialist equipment, accessible learning and individualised support.

The Role

• Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
• Support pupils with physical and medical requirements.
• Adapt learning activities and classroom resources.
• Assist with specialist technology and equipment.
• Support communication and access to the curriculum.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience or understanding of physical and/or medical needs.
• Confident ICT skills and willingness to learn specialist systems.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle – essential.
