Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Gateshead, supporting children and young people with physical and/or medical needs.

You’ll work alongside specialist teachers and other professionals to help pupils overcome barriers and become as independent as possible.

This is a varied opportunity to develop specialist SEND knowledge, assistive tech, and accessible learning, with a term-time only schedule and daily rate eligibility.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Confidence using ICT and willingness to learn specialist technology.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach.

This is a varied opportunity for an experienced TA who wants to develop their knowledge of specialist support, assistive technology and accessible learning.

You’ll work alongside specialist teachers and other professionals to help pupils overcome barriers and become as independent as possible.

Your Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting physical and/or medical needs is desirable.
• Confidence using ICT and willingness to learn specialist technology.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work across different environments.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
