This is not a 1:1 support position. Instead, you will work alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning across the whole classroom, while delivering targeted interventions to pupils working below age-related expectations.

The role
  • Provide high-quality classroom support within a KS2 class.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support small groups of pupils.
  • Use Read, Write, Inc. (RWI) to support KS2 pupils who are working below expected attainment in reading and phonics.
  • Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom organisation.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for all pupils.
The school
  • Friendly and welcoming primary school in Tameside.
  • Supportive leadership team and collaborative staff.
  • Positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Well-resourced classrooms with a strong focus on pupil achievement and wellbeing.
The ideal candidate

To be considered for this role, applicants should:

  • Have recent experience working within a KS2 classroom.
  • Have strong knowledge and practical experience of Read, Write, Inc. (RWI), with the confidence to support KS2 pupils working below age-related expectations in reading and phonics.
  • Have experience supporting whole-class teaching and learning rather than solely working in a 1:1 capacity.
  • Be proactive, adaptable and able to work as part of a team.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
What we offer
  • Competitive daily rates of £92.56 - £110.00, depending on experience.
  • Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
  • Access to professional development opportunities.
  • A rewarding full-time opportunity in a supportive primary school.
  • The opportunity to make a real impact during the autumn term.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with safer recruitment practices. This role involves safeguarding responsibilities, and the candidate must be committed to promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship for non-UK candidates.
